Dear International Students,
We are receiving your inquiries related to the events in Ukraine and how they may affect your studies. This is to assure you that we are observing the situation closely and we will take all necessary steps to support you in the smooth continuation of your studies.
You have probably heard already that Lithuania is declaring a state of emergency today. We would like to stress that this decision by the national authorities will not impact the daily life of the general population and almost all organizations, including Vilnius University. The Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė has clarified that the state of emergency will not involve significant restrictions on Lithuanian citizens and residents. She specified that the state of emergency is mostly about providing "conditions for state institutions to react to situations in the area of infrastructure, to use state reserve fund,".
No changes are being introduced in the operations of Vilnius University and this applies to your studies as well. We encourage you to attend your classes and perform all other study activities in accordance to schedules established by your academic departments.
We will keep you promptly informed about any developments and the decisions of the University authorities related to your studies and your welfare. In the meantime do not hesitate to contact with all your queries the international students affairs staff at your academic department or our student consultancy services by email at or by phone +370 5 219 3277.
