The moment of lighting the Christmas tree / From the MF archive
On 4 December this year, a Christmas tree was lit in the lobby of the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University!
The Faculty community - staff and students - gathered in the lobby of the Faculty of Medicine at noon and lit the tree to the sound of the elf choir. The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Dalius Jatužis, greeted the participants and wished bright in the minds and hearts of everyone who came. The Dean also explained the history and meaning of the Christmas carol "Silent Night" and invited everyone to sing it together with the choir members. Even the foreign students of the Faculty of Medicine took it upon themselves to sing the carol, which has been translated into more than 300 world languages.
The smell of mandarins, the flames of the fire and the lights of the Christmas tree made the community feel the beginning of the most beautiful winter holidays.
The Christmas tree was decorated by the members of the Student Representation of the Faculty of Medicine.
