Dear members of the Faculty of Medicine community, esteemed colleagues, and dear students,

I sincerely congratulate you all on the start of the new academic year! This time reminds us that we are not only researchers, students, or teachers but also a large, strong community united by a common mission—to strive for scientific excellence, to nurture new generations of medical professionals, and to contribute to the strengthening of public health.

We are united by a spirit of understanding, support, and assistance. Today, I want to emphasize how important each of our loyalty to the university's values is, values that are based on the principles of science, ethics, responsibility, and humanity. I invite you all to continue fostering mutual trust, open dialogue, and respect for one another. Only by being united, faithful to our values and commitments, can we achieve the greatest goals and create an environment where everyone feels respected and supported.

This year, our faculty welcomes over 800 first-year students from various programs—bachelor's, integrated, and master's—both Lithuanian and international citizens. Let us welcome them into our community, provide them with the necessary knowledge, and nurture yet another generation of future medical professionals.

I wish you inspiring studies and research, meaningful discussions, and successful projects! May this year be filled with new discoveries and shared achievements that strengthen your name, the name of the Faculty of Medicine, and Vilnius University.

I look forward to seeing you at the Renovatio Studiorum events!

Dean Prof. Dalius Jatužis
