Prof. Eugenijus Lesinskas / MF archive
From 1 July, Prof. Eugenijus Lesinskas started working in the new capacity as the Director of the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of Vilnius University (VU MF), replacing the outgoing Director Prof. Tomas Poškus. The decision regarding the new head of the Institute of Clinical Medicine was taken at the meeting of the Council of the VU MF held on 12 June pursuant to Order No (1.4 E) 150000-DTK-22 of the Dean of the VU MF. Prof. Lesinskas is a researcher at the VU MF (research interests include ear, nose, pharynx and larynx research, otology issues, diagnosis and treatment of otitis media, and cochlear implants), the head of the Clinic of Ear, Nose, Throat and Eye Diseases at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, a lecturer, a member of the Council of Vilnius University (since 2014), the Chairman of the Council of the VU MF (since 2016), and the Vice-Chairman of the Council of Vilnius University (since 2019). He is also the head of the Centre of Ear, Nose and Throat Diseases at Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, a member of the Council of the European Neuro-Ophthalmology Society and was the Chairman of the Lithuanian Society of Otorhinolaryngology (2014–2023). He has published more than 100 scientific articles, has completed fellowships in the United States of America, the Czech Republic, France, Germany and Austria. Prof. Lesinskas was the first to perform such new ear surgeries in Lithuania as the reconstruction of middle ear using combined techniques (1999), cochlear implant surgery (2006) and surgically implantable hearing aids (2008).
